1.TITLE:Volume of Interest (VOIs) Textural Features Development for MRI Images Classification

ABSTRACT (up to 100 words):

Textural features, as the gray-tone distribution information extracted from images, have been used for many years in biomedical applications as input data in pattern recognition software systems. Spatial information textural features include features extracted from the gray-level co-occurrence matrices as well as features from the gray-level run-length matrices. The aim of the proposed thesis is the extension of the classical textural features calculated from Regions of Interest (ROIs) of planar medical images to features calculated from Volumes of Interest (VOIs) and the comparison of their discriminatory ability at two classes of MRI image series.

 

2.TITLE:Α Pattern Recognition System Development for the Discrimination of Normal Aging from Alzheimer’s Disease

ABSTRACT (up to 100 words):

The aim of the proposed thesis is the software implementation of classification algorithms and their integration in a complete pattern recognition system for automatic classification of patients with Alzheimer’s disease from controls with normal aging, using neuroimaging data sets freely available to the scientific community.
