Dr. Bill Psomas is an early-career researcher specializing in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He recently defended his Ph.D. dissertation, titled “Learning Visual and Multimodal Representations,” at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Prior to his Ph.D., he earned a Master of Science in Data Science and Information Technologies with a specialization in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a Diploma in Rural, Surveying, and Geoinformatics Engineering from NTUA.
Dr. Psomas has completed internships at prestigious research institutes, including Inria Rennes – Bretagne Atlantique and the Institute of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence (IARAI). He has significant research experience, having served as a research assistant at both the Athena Research Center and NTUA. His contributions span five major research projects (two European, two Greek, and one international), and he has co-supervised five Diploma and Master theses. His publication record includes three theses, two journal articles, and six conference and workshop papers within his fields of expertise.
In addition to his research accomplishments, Dr. Psomas has actively contributed to the academic community by organizing two workshops and symposiums, serving as a session chair at one conference, and reviewing papers for three journals and five conferences. He has also been involved in teaching three undergraduate and one postgraduate course at NTUA and has delivered two invited talks and lectures.
